April 7th is World Health Day, which means it’s a good time to pause and think about your health.
So why not ask yourself the question: how healthy are you?
That is not an easy question to answer. We tend to think how we feel most of the time represents good health, but does it? If you have an overflow of energy and focus then, yes, it probably does.
But I used to think I was in reasonable health even though I had no energy, my temper was on a short fuse and my concentration span was shot. Sadly, I meet too many people who are like I used to be. I meet too many people who have a lot of potential for improvement.
The problem is they don’t even realise how bad they feel, they just see the depths that they’ve fallen to as normal. They struggle to appreciate how good they could feel if they made a few lifestyle changes.
I always think of Allen Carr’s observation, “What you have come to regard as normal health is in fact a permanent state of sickness and lethargy.”
If that sounds worryingly familiar, if you have an inkling that the way you feel could improve then it almost certainly can.
It’s easier than you’d think. By removing cigarettes, alcohol and junk food from my life I managed to go from that permanent state of sickness and lethargy to energy, focus, peace and happiness.
And you can too.
I’m on a mission to share my good health with the world so if you want a little help then just message me. Happy Health Day.
