You won’t eat it if you don’t see it…
If I showed you a table covered in pictures of food, would you eat them? Heck, no!
Why not? They look like food.
At this point you’d most likely point out that while they might look like food, they are not food. And I’d agree. They are indeed like a lot of what you can buy in shops and restaurants these days, it looks like food but it’s not actually food.
Much of what the endless Deliveroo serves up bears a passing resemblance to food, but you really shouldn’t eat it. It’s not food, it’s Food Like Obesity Product – FLOP for short.
The really good news is that once you learn to recognise FLOP then you won’t be tricked into eating it. Once you can see it for what it is – something that looks like food but isn’t – then you’ll no longer want to eat it. And it isn’t difficult not to eat something that you don’t want to eat, in fact, you don’t even have to do anything.
Better than that, once you start to identify more foods as FLOP, then you stop even seeing them. In the same way that once you identify adverts as not TV, you don’t watch them anymore.
Once you can get to that state, then you’re not tempted by the FLOP because it doesn’t even exist for you anymore. And FLOP-free living tastes great.
